Domestic visitors in Georgia made several tours during a year – totally up to 13 mln visits were organized in 2016, which exceeds the data of 2015 by 5%. Most of internal visits were conducted for meeting friends and relatives (52.5%), small number of visits were made for shopping (12.3%) and treatment/health (11.1%), visits aimed at resting, entertaining and recreation composed 9%.
In 2016 24% of internal visits were conducted in the capital of Georgia, then in Imereti (21%) and Adjara (11%). Among the organized visits the most visitable regions aimed at resting were: Adjara (21%), Mtskheta-Mtianeti (18%) and Samtskhe-Javakheti (14%).
