World bank Project Doing Business grants each country the appropriate position depending on their ease of doing business. The ranking of 2017 presents the assessments of 190 countries. The higher the country’s rating, the more favourable business environment is for starting a business and further business activities. The total rating of doing business is analyzed by the following 10 components’ simplicity or complexity analysis:
- Enterprise establishment
- Attaining the permit for construction
- Enrolling to power supply system
- Property registration
- Getting the credit
- Protection of minority shareholders
- Taxation
- International trade
- Ensuring fullfilment of contracts
- Insolvency solution
Doing Business rating of 2017 is based on the data from June 2016. Georgia is on the 16th place in this rating. It has it’s best rating (3 points) in the ownership registration component and the worst rating (106 points) in the insolvency solution component.
Georgia ranks 23rd in the ranking of 2016, and 112th – in 2006.
In the ranking of Doing Business 2017 New Zealand is ranked first and Somalia occupies the 190th place.
